Puppy Lovey

Hello Lovies!

I made this little pup for one of my favorite babies over the holidays. She loves puppies.

This pup is easily adaptable by changing up the colors and increasing or decreasing the ear length.

I hope you enjoy it!

Tie off leaving a long tail.

Using your tapestry needle, stitch the eyes together along the center for about 5 stitches or so.

Muzzle:

Round 1: In a magic circle, chain 1, SC 6, pull tight (6 stitches)

Round 2: 2 SC in the same stitch, SC in the next* (9 stitches)

Round 3: 2 SC in the same stitch, SC in the next 2 stitches* (12 stitches)

Round 4: SC, 2 HDC, 2 DC, 2 HDC, SC in the next 3 stitches, 2 HDC, 2 DC, 2 HDC, SC in the last two stitches (18 stitches)

Round 5: SC 2, 2 HDC, 2 DC, 2 HDC, SC in the next 6 stitches, 2 HDC, 2 DC, 2 HDC, SC in the next 4, sl st to join, tie off leaving a long tail (24 stitches)

Using your tapestry needle, sew a black nose.

Assembly:

-Using your tapestry needle and the long tails, sew on the eyes first.

-Now, sew on the muzzle with a little bit overlapping the eyes. You’ll want to add a little bit of stuffing behind the muzzle.

-Beginning in the upper left corner, join the front and back pieces of the body with a row of SC in the corresponding color. Add stuffing before completing the top.

-When attaching the ears, allow a small amount of the ear to fold around to the side of the body.

This picture is the top of the left ear before beginning to attach.

This is what the back of the left ear looked like after I finished attaching it.

When attaching ears, I like to use several layers of stitches so I can be sure a little one cannot pull them off.

Ta-Da!

May your mug always be half-full of joy!
