Happy December, Lovies!
In honor of the first day of December, I have crocheted the perfect coffee companion for this month!
Also, like my favorite crochet projects, it is so quick and easy.
Plus, who doesn’t love mustaches?
Mustache Santa Coffee Cozy
(fits your standard size reusable Starbucks mug)
Please note, the size can be easily adjusted to fit your mug of choice by chaining the perfect amount to fit around your mug.
-white, red, black, & yellow yarn
I found the cutest and easiest mustache pattern here.
After each color change, leave a long tail to use for joining.
with red, chain 28
(Please note, the size can be easily adjusted to fit your mug of choice by chaining the perfect amount to fit around your mug.)
Rows 1-3: SC 27, chain 1, turn (27 stitches)
– on the last stitch of the 3rd row, switch to black yarn
Rows 4-5: SC 27, chain 1, turn (27 stitches)
-on the last stitch of the 5th row, switch back to red yarn
Rows 6-10: SC 27, chain 1, turn (27 stitches)
-tie off leaving a long tail
-Using your tapestry needle and burnt yellow yarn, sew on a cute little belt buckle. I did two rounds of a small square along the edges of the black in the center.
-Now, sew on your adorable mustache! I did two layers of attaching to make sure it was secure.
-Complete the circle that creates your cozy with the wrong side facing out.
-Using the corresponding colored tails and your tapestry needle, sew the ends together and tie off.
-Trim loose ends and flip right side out.
Now brew some coffee & enjoy your adorable cozy!
(These are also good little gifts for friends and coworkers to enjoy throughout the month of December)
Let me know how yours turns out or if you adapted the pattern to fit your mug of choice!
Send me a picture of your cozy and I will post it here!
Happy Holidays and Happy Crocheting
